The Flash: Each Main Character's Most Iconic Scene | ScreenRant - Screen Rant

The CW's The Flash has become a mainstay of the Arrowverse and is universally recognized as one of the best adaptations of a DC Comics character. The show has pulled from a huge variety of places in the source material to build up a Team Flash, which fans have grown to love. Each of the characters on the team has its own iconic moments too.

It might be the origins that started it all, the first time they suit up as a super, or perhaps a personal achievement that has gone on to define the character. Each of these Team Flash members has an iconic scene that fans will remember as a turning point for the TV series.

10 Barry Allen: Origins

Barry Allen gets hit with a bolt

One of the things that Grant Gustin's iteration is complimented for is being comic-accurate. That means that his initial origins (as seen in Arrow), are perhaps as close to the source material as DC could get. There's something truly magical about seeing the new CSI, Barry Allen, get hit with the lightning bolt in the middle of his lab.

From the colors of the chemicals floating around him to the first hint of that iconic theme song, everything about this scene is perfect. It may also signify the birth of the Arrowverse as an extending franchise. There's no other origin scene in any of the series quite like this iconic moment.

9 Cisco Ramon: Giving Up His Abilities

Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow The Flash Season 7

Cisco Ramon has often been the right-hand man to The Flash. His time as Vibe secured his spot on Team Flash, but he was so much more than his abilities. Cisco also has a great mind and is a scientific genius for the group. However, some fans may agree that his decision to take the Meta-Human cure was a defining one of season 5.

It's an underrated moment in The Flash that's barely talked about and drew some controversy at the time as some thought it would ruin the character. The beautifully acted scene features Caitlin Snow, his best friend, administering the drug in a sequence that allows Cisco to truly explore the emotions of the moment. His full potential as the brain behind the operation is unleashed thereafter though, becoming the key turning point for the character.

8 Caitlin Snow: Life In Prison

Caitlin Snow has been a vital member of Team Flash, but her time as Killer Frost was a complex one. The most recent season of the show actually saw the two personalities part, with Frost still trying to find her way to becoming a real hero. However, the law would catch up to her.

On trial for her past crimes, she had a decision to make. Prison or to be forced to take the Meta-Human cure. Both Caitlin and Frost made a decision that day that would come about in an emotional scene. Frost announced, after guidance from Snow, that she would choose a lifetime in prison to avoid the cure and to ensure no other meta would be forced into a similar situation. This sacrifice proved that she really was a hero, proving the doubters wrong and establish Frost's independence.

7 Harrison Wells: Killing Cisco

Wells kills Cisco The Flash

It isn't Team Flash without some version of Harrison Wells, but it's the season 1 twist involving the original that fans still remember the most. The Reverse-Flash had been masquerading as the scientist for years, and Cisco, unfortunately, found out before anyone else.

The scene involving the two is full of emotional conflict, with many Flash fans agreeing that months of foreshadowing finally paid off. Wells admits Cisco has been like a son to him but kills him just the same in order to fulfill his quest to return to the future. It's cold and calculated yet somehow full of deep regret. However, it's a scene that actually solidifies his villain status and acts as a great reveal.

6 Iris West-Allen: Becoming The Flash

The Flash Iris West Speedster

There's a lot of brilliant Iris-West moments to choose from whether it's her heartbreaking separation from Team Flash, badassery in the Mirror-Verse, or her decision to set up her own website. But it might be her brief time as a Speedster in season 4 that showed a unique side of the character.

Fans had been awaiting her superhero moment and it finally came as Iris emerged in her purple leather jacket, ready to take on a Meta-criminal. It's an iconic scene that shows Iris can really do it all, picking up the Flash's skills far quicker than Barry ever did. It shows her value to the team but also foreshadows her own daughter becoming X-S, paying homage with the same leather jacket.

5 Joe West: Finding Out About The Flash

Joe and Barry have a heart to heart

Joe West is, by all accounts, an excellent father, a brilliant leader, and a superb friend. There are so many iconic speeches to pick from, but it's one of his earliest scenes in season 1 that still sets up the character for the rest of his run. The moment Joe finds out Barry is the Flash is a powerful one.

Superhero shows usually see the supporting characters (especially a parental figure) overreact. In this one quiet scene, Joe accepts Barry's powers, apologizes to him, protects his daughter, and proclaims Barry's father to be innocent. He shows what a truly decent man he is, putting family first while also immediately having the Flash's back.

4 Cecile Horton: Unleashing Her Powers On Top

Cecile gained her powers in season 4 of the show, but she hasn't actually fully unleashed them until season 7. Always holding back, it's in a charged scene with the villain Top that she allows her abilities to be fully felt, even at the cost of potentially losing some of her moral integrity.

With lives at stake, she uses her powers to influence the mind and emotions of Top herself, showing her strength and level of power. It's almost a scary moment, but one that demonstrates she'll do anything to protect her family and helps her get to the level of the other Metas on the team.

3 Wally West: Kid Flash Returns

Kid Flash was written out of The Flash for a time, but the debate raged on between The Flash fans about who was the ultimate speedster was. However, his season 6 return showed a new set of abilities and a completely different attitude for Wally West, who had been to learn the way of the Zen master.

His new calmness and clarity unlocked his gifts in a way that Barry had never been able to. His return was a triumphant moment, highlighted by his saving people from a crashing helicopter; a heroic scene if there ever was one. It's a moment that allows Kid Flash to fully realize his potential.

2 Chester P. Runk: A Day With His Dad

The Flash Chester Runk and Cisco Ramon in 90s Clothes

Chester P. Runk was introduced to the show as comic relief but found a position on Team Flash as the eventual replacement for Cisco. However, his key narrative arc came when Runk and Chester were sent back to the past in season 7, where Runk would encounter his father.

Chester has always had a negative memory of his father, but the scene where the duo repairs a piece of tech together allows them to bond for the first time in years. It changes the perception Chester has of his dad and in turn allows the character to have a truly memorable and meaningful piece of the Flash story, before his complete entrenchment on the team.

1 Allegra Garcia: Facing Down Ultraviolet

The Flash Allegra Kayla Compton Season 6

Allegra Garcia has always been a little resistant to use her abilities, preferring to aid her city by working alongside Iris as a journalist. Her rivalry with her cousin, Ultraviolet, has usually pushed her to the brink, however, and season 7 forced her to finally break out of being scared of her gifts.

She allowed her Meta-human flag to fly in a way she never had before in one action scene, with her superhero abilities beautifully represented in an incredible display of the light spectrum. Everyone involved in the scene was shocked by the incident but for fans, the moment feels as if it's been built up for many years.
