Jojo Rabbit’s Luke Brandon Field Joins The Flash Movie In Unknown Role - Screen Rant

Luke Brandon Field has joined the cast of The Flash movie. Set after the events of the divisive Justice League, which featured the Scarlet Speedster in a prominent role after his debut cameo in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, DCEU'S The Flash serves as the first solo venture for Ezra Miller's Barry Allen. The new movie follows the titular protagonist as he attempts to bend time and space to prevent his mother's murder, unbeknownst of its repercussions on his timeline. The film is directed by Andy Muschietti and written by Christina Hodson, and it is currently scheduled to release in the United States on November 4, 2022.

Besides Miller, The Flash features a stacked cast of the best actors from Hollywood. Kiersey Clemons is reprising her role as Iris West after her act in the directorial cut of Zack Snyder's Justice League - while The Young and Restless' Sasha Calle has been confirmed to appear as DCEU's Supergirl. Additionally, with the movie delving into the concept of the multiverse, both of the Batmen, played by Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck, will also pop up as vigilantes of Gotham in parallel realities. Now The Flash has attached another actor to its star-studded ensemble.

On Friday, Jojo Rabbit actor Luke Brandon Field announced on Instagram that he has landed a role in The Flash. Although Field was clearly excited about his new job, he, nevertheless, remained coy about the details of his character, not giving away a single hint that might help fans figure out his role. Said to adapt the Flashpoint storyline from the comics, The Flash has been filming in England and Scotland since May 2021. The movie is already several months into production, which does make one wonder why it is still casting actors so late into the process. A possible explanation for this is perhaps the new addition is only meant to have a cameo role in the movie that doesn't require him to film a lot of scenes with the other co-stars. There are already rounds about The Flash featuring multiple Barry Allens, so maybe Field has been cast as another version of the speedster, although there isn't enough evidence to prove the same.

Another possibility, which has the greater odds of being true, is that Field has likely been cast as Eobard "Zoom" Thawne, aka Reverse-Flash. The supervillain has been long speculated to appear in The Flash, with pieces of fan art frequently imagining what he could look like in the movie. Reverse-Flash is a pivotal character in the Flashpoint story arc, which is why fans naturally expect the forthcoming film to feature him as the key nemesis. But as the helmer Andy Muschietti had iterated earlier, The Flash isn't approaching its source material as linearly as fans imagine. Hence, until now, it has remained unclear if Reverse-Flash would even be included in the movie, and if so, in what capacity. Right now, Field's mostly opaque casting indicates that the character is being incorporated in the film in some way. Although his inclusion so down the line might mean that Reverse-Flash may have a briefer screen presence than originally anticipated.
