Swamp Thing Brings the Bayou to The Flash, Legends in Waterlogged Promos - CBR - Comic Book Resources

The Flash and DC's Legends of Tomorrow welcomed a newcomer to the CWverse — Swamp Thing, which moves to The CW from the DC Universe streaming app Tuesday with a 90-minute premiere episode.

Both promos on Twitter were captioned "There's something in the water ..." Animation of vines cover the images of the Flash cast and Legends cast, along with the headline "BEWARE OF THE BAYOU."

Produced by Aquaman director James Wan, Swamp Thing, which ran for ten episodes on the DC Universe app, was canceled in 2019. It is based on the DC horror comic about a plant elemental that emerges from a Louisiana swamp, formed from the vegetation and the memories of murdered biologist Alec Holland.

In the series, Holland works with Abby Arcane, an investigator for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), who comes to the town of Marais seeking answers about a mysterious illness. After Swamp Thing emerges, they explore various supernatural happenings in the region.

Swamp Thing stars Crystal Reed, Andy Bean, Derek Mears, Jennifer Beals, Henderson Wade, Will Patton, Virginia Madsen, Jeryl Prescott and Kevin Durand. The entire series is currently available to stream on the DC Universe service and premieres on The CW on Oct. 6.
