Batman's Michael Keaton won't confirm involvement in The Flash movie - digitalspy.com

Batman star Michael Keaton is keeping schtum on whether or not he will actually be reprising his role as the Caped Crusader in Warner Bros' upcoming The Flash movie.

Following an announcement from director Andy Muschietti (It: Chapter Two), it has been widely reported that the actor, who first played Bruce Wayne in Tim Burton's 1989 outing, would be donning the iconic mask once again in the Scarlet Speedster's standalone movie.

Now though, Keaton has said that he "can't confirm" his involvement in the ever-expanding franchise.

When asked by host Jimmey Kimmel if the rumour was true, Keaton replied: "I can't confirm anything, I can only say this though... we're having discussions as they say, we're talking about it, we'll see if that happens."

Later, he went on to joke that "all 127" iterations of the Dark Knight will appear in the film, from Val Kilmer's to George Clooney's, before saying that he keeps the suit to pop on whenever he doesn't feel so good about himself.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them star Ezra Miller is set to return as titular hero Barry Allen in The Flash, having first portrayed the character briefly in 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

He appeared as Barry again in Justice League in 2017, which was originally supposed to path the way for a trio of solo outings consisting of The Flash, Aquaman and Shazam! However, only the latter two ever made it to the big screen.

It has been rumoured that The Morning Show's Billy Crudup will be back to portray Barry's father Henry, and that Ben Affleck will also appear as Batman. It also has been teased that the film will be loosely inspired by DC's Flashpoint issues.

The Flash is set for release on June 3, 2022.
